Spirit of the Wild Guide Training Course

The Spirit of the Wild Guide Training Course is an additional training for professionals in the field of nature, such as nature guides, park managers, policy makers, school and university teachers and other educators. The training course at Bergplaas will help you to rediscover or meet your inner passion for wilderness and offers support for your professional activities. 

The course consists of a three-week programme which takes place throughout the year. It focuses on how you can deepen your connection with wilderness to allow your visitors, tourists and students to step out of a consumer approach and to also discover this deeper connection with nature. In addition, the course allows you to work on the strong and the less strong aspects in your work with support from the facilitators and the group.

The programme has been endorsed by South African National Parks - the Awareness and Outreach Conservation Services Division - and by the Department of Nature Conservation of the Tshwane University of Technology.
